n 1979 Climax recorded ‘Real To Reel’ in Montserrat, the first band to use the recording studios there. The environment and the general mood of the location is all over the first track on the album ‘Summer Rain’, a personal favourite, smooth with a funky laid back groove, in some ways reminiscent of Little Feat in feel, with more of the trademark guitar and sax runs and a lilting Pete Haycock vocal. ‘Children Of The Nightime’ gets lower and funkier than any other with Colin’s singing hitting an all time low…in the best possible way. Derek Holt gets to sing a song totally solo for the first time in ‘Crazy World’ which closes the album. However, a hit single was not apparent, but the next album produced two.
