Van Halen II es el segundo álbum del grupo americano de Hard Rock Van Halen, lanzado en 1979TODO impecable !!!!!!éste es el disco donde el rock duro comienza a descontracturarse y mostrar que también puede ser "divertido", sin perder en virtuosismo.
No de casualidad es Gene Simmons (Kiss) quien descubre y le financia el primer demo a esta banda. Su disco debut es de 1878 (impresionante por cierto), y es en "Van Halen II" donde David Lee Roth empieza a soltarse más, demostrando que un verdadero showman es aquel que no sólo se luce en el escenario, si no que también se escucha como tal. "Dance The Night Away" es el hit, y es donde se puede apreciar a una banda de rock haciendonos bailar. Pero también está el heavy "D.O.A.", o el aceleradísimo "Somebody Get Me a Doctor". En "Spanish Fly" el gran Eddie se calza la española para decirnos "miren que también hago esto eh...", y lo bien que lo hace.
El álbum termina con otro himno a la diversión y a las mujeres bellas, su nombre, obviamente "Beautiful Girls".
Van Halen, mientras Roth fué su voz, basó su éxito en la batalla de egos que se daba entre el cantante domador de multitudes y el guitarrista virtuoso. Es en este disco donde se observa más claramente. Luego vino "Women and Children First", que los confirmaba como LA GRAN banda de ese momento en Estados Unidos; pero a partir de ahí las tensiones disparadas por ese enfrentamiento de personalidades comenzó a crecer cada vez más, hasta que luego de su gran obra "1984" Roth comienza lo que en ese momento era su prometedora carrera solista, mientras que Van Halen nunca volvería a ser el mismo.Oh man, the unpacking continues. Sorry G, had to tell that.Other hits include "Dance the Night Away" and the most awesome "Beautiful Girls." My favorites include "Somebody Get Me a Doctor" and acoustic solo "Spanish Fly." Tonight when "D.O.A." started with Eddie's chunk-chunk-chunk guitar riff Mary said "that's sooo rock ‘n' roll." Yes it is.
