Phil Ochs fue una estrella fugaz de la canción de protesta estadounidense en la década de los sesenta, durante la guerra del Vietnam. Contemporáneo y amigo de Bob Dylan, llegó a publicar siete longplays antes de suicidarse en 1976. Sus canciones, abiertamente contrarias al sistema, no han perdido nada de la frescura inicial y son de una espeluznante actualidad.
