Stephen Stills lanzó su segundo LP en solitario llamado simplemente 'Stephen Stills 2' allá por 1971. las canciones 'Change Partners' y 'Marianne', que fueron los sencillos del álbum,
Stephen tenía varios artistas invitados en el disco. Entre ellos estaban Dallas Taylor, Ringo Starr, Eric Clapton, Nils Lofgren, Billy Preston, David Crosby y Jerry García. Incluso Henry Diltz, el conocido fotógrafo (piense en las portadas de los álbumes de The Doors, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young) cantó en una de las pistas (Henry también es un músico muy talentoso).
