Victory fue certificado 2× Platino por la Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) en los Estados Unidos en octubre de 1984. [7] Alcanzó el número cuatro en la lista de álbumes Billboard 200 de Estados Unidos. Su sencillo más exitoso, "State of Shock", alcanzó el número tres en la lista de canciones Billboard Hot 100 de Estados Unidos. [8] Victory fue apoyado por el Victory Tour, con Michael, quien recientemente había lanzado el álbum más vendido del mundo, Thriller (1982), siendo destacado en el setlist de la gira.
